This exercise class is geared towards individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) and is led by a physical therapist and personal trainer. The hour-long class is divided into two sessions, 30 minutes on the treadmill (sometimes walking backwards) and 30 minutes working on strength and flexibility with a focus on trunk mobility. Clients of all stages of the disease are welcome, as well as, new participants.

Don't be intimidated by weight lifting. Take this summer to learn a new style of strength training that will generate knowledge and skills to be more confident in the weight room. Skills you will learn include: • Proper techniques for using free weights to avoid injury • Increasing functional muscle strength and endurance • How to simultaneously burn fat while building muscle in a fun but challenging setting Each week we will focus on an area of the body (chest, back, legs, etc.). Every class you will receive your own copy of the workout. At the end of the session you will have a complete workout program to do own your own.

The JCC's Youth Strength Training program is for members ages 12-14 who are interested in learning how to use the cardio and strength machines under the knowledge and guidance of one of our nationally certified personal trainers. After completion of this three part course, participants will be able to use the fitness center on their own. Learn the basics of a workout and the benefits of exercise.
