Education

Jewish Education

Back to the Sources 1

Thu 9:30 AM-11:15 AM
This collection of Biblical books actually didn't make it into the final cut of the Hebrew Bible! The works were included in the Septuagint - the first translation of the Hebrew Bible into Greek in the Third Century BCE. Although it is not included in the Hebrew Bible which was finalized some 4 centuries later, it IS included in some Christian Bibles. The books of the Apocrypha are indeed similar to those of the Hebrew Bible and include works such as the Books of the Macabees, Tobit, Suzanna, The Book of Jubilees and more. We will study these amazing little known books, and will explore the reasons they were not included in the final cut of the Hebrew Scriptures.
