Welcome to the Fitness & Wellness Department

The J offers a program for everyone! Please browse through our website and find a fitness program that fits your needs – free group exercise classes, specialty fitness classes (martial arts, dance, and yoga), Pilates, Spinning, free fitness/wellness workshops and seminars, monthly health screenings and much more.

 

 

 

I have been with the J for 24 years and we are now the best we have ever been, from facilities to programs. The last 24 years I have been in several capacities including Aquatics Director, Fitness Director, Group Exercise Director and Day Camp Director. I have been the Director of Health, Recreation & Fitness for the past 10 years. My degree is in Exercise & Fitness from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, certified Group Fitness Instructor through ACE (American Council on Exercise) and trained in Stott Pilates Intensive Matwork and Reformer. My philosophy of fitness and well-being is “moderation” and “FUN”– everything should be enjoyed in life, but in moderation including exercise and nutrition. We all need to continue to move in whatever way works best for us personally, we need to take care of ourselves in terms of health and well-being – exercise, eat well and find a mode of relaxation that works for you.

In my personal life, I am the mother of two wonderful daughters, Nikki who is a freshman at UW-Milwaukee and Jamie who is a freshman in high school. I enjoy life with my husband, Doug by staying active by cycling, walking and being outdoors (I enjoy spending time up north at my cabin) as well as decorating my home.
