Marie is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She has a BSN in nursing and has been a registered nurse for over thirty years. Her nursing career specialized in pediatrics and psychiatric populations.
Marie has been fitness orientated all of her adult life. She is an avid “gym goer” and has participated in almost every type of exercise class from step aerobics to yoga and everything else in between over the past years. Exercise trends come and go; but, one thing always remains the same; stay fit and be healthy to live longer and to prevent injury.
But most of all have FUN doing it!!
Marie believes every fitness program should include cardiovascular training, flexibility, balance and core strength with resistance training an essential factor for everyone to perform daily functional activities efficiently and safely.
Having a medical background allows Marie to develop programs for clients with medical concerns with an emphasis on healthy nutrition and effective weight management. Also, with women and their unique aging process and how it effects their exercise needs.
Marie's other lifestyle interests include running, hiking, biking, kayaking, traveling; but, most of all her favorite activity is being with her husband and their three grown children whenever time allows!
