Big Melt Down

The Big Melt Down takes a realistic approach to weight loss and healthy living. This program will help you with real–life self empowerment, exercise, eating and well-being. Certified Personal Trainers, Wellness Coaches and a Nutritionist will monitor and assist your journey to a healthier you. FRESH START OR REFRESH?

The JCC offers structured programs in the Big Melt Down, Fresh Start and Refresh.

Fresh Start is designed for first-time Big Melt Down participants. It consists of two days of group training sessions per week, a weekly nutrition group meeting, wellness coaching, and group and individual challenges throughout the program. Returning participants are also welcomed.

Refresh is designed for returning Big Melt Down participants. It consists of two days per week of group training sessions. Training sessions include a mix of Fresh Start and Refresh participants and will follow the Fresh Start workout plan. Exercise modifications will be offered when available. You must be a Big Melt Down graduate to enroll in the Refresh Program.

NEED SOMETHING MORE FLEXIBLE? 

The JCC offers two options that can be done individually or in a small group. Participants can enroll in either of these flexible options at any time. 

Mini Melt Down consists of three hours of personal training sessions (with trainer of your choice) plus a one-hour session with our certified nutritionist and is geared towards weight loss.

Member value fee: $175, Patron fee: $175, Program user fee: $250

Not-So Mini Melt Down consists of six hours of personal training sessions (with trainer of your choice) plus two one-hour sessions with our certified nutritionist and is geared towards weight loss.

Member value fee: $325, Patron fee: $325, Program user fee: $400

The Big Melt Down Fresh Start and Refresh are Level 2 programs. Participants in level 2 programs should be able to power walk and rise off of the floor without assistance. Exercise modifications will be presented when available.

Flexible options are customized for each individual’s fitness level.

REGISTRATION -Registration begins Thursday December 11 for members and Tuesdays December 16 for program users

To sign up for Fresh Start you can click here to register online, register in person at the JCC, or by contacting Katie Nickel at 414-967-8269. Choose one of our training sessions, register,  and you will receive a confirmation email within three business days including detailed information specific to the program.

The Fresh Start program consists of two small group training sessions per week, a weekly group nutrition meeting on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the library on the 3rd floor of the JCC, a welcome meeting at 11:00am on Saturday, January  17 at 11:00am and a post program fitness evaluation on Saturday, April 11 at 11:00am.

At the welcome meeting you will receive your Big Melt Down information folder with schedules, trainer/nutritionist information and answers to any questions. The trainers and nutritionist will be there to greet you and discuss details about the program. You will also complete your pre-program fitness evaluation. The purpose of the fitness evaluation is to ensure that all participants are physically ready for the Big Melt Down program. The fitness evaluation consists of a resting blood pressure measurement, initial weigh-in, measurements of the waist and hip, and a 3-minute step test.
