Details: Details: 2008: An Election of Historic Proportions Thus far, the election cycle of 2008 has already broken any number of records: votes cast, money raised and spent, the first fully viable campaign by a woman, by an African American and by a cancer survivor This four session program will provide historical, political, and cultural contexts for exploring and analyzing one of the most exciting elections in U.S. history. Not only will you be an educated voter when you complete this course, but you will know how this election is so very different from all of America%u2019s other elections,,, There will be plenty of time for questions. This series is taught by Dr. Lilly Goren, Professor of Politics at Carroll College. Dr. Goren is a Political Science graduate of Kenyon College and a PhD graduate of Boston College. Dr. Goren has been part of many panels and task forces relating to political policy. She has been a media consultant on American politics and elections for the New York Times, the L.A. Times, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and other publications. This political series will insure you to be an educated voter.
