Children's Aquatics

Don’t wait to register! The JCC’s swimming classes fill up fast! Based on the American Red Cross’ most recent guidelines, our program adheres to the American Red Cross skill level advancement requirements. Progression to new levels is based on mastering a pre-established set of skills. Lifeguards and instructors are fully trained and certified in American Red Cross swim instruction and water safety techniques. Pre-class evaluations for appropriate level placement will be conducted as needed. End-of-the-session report cards keep parents informed on their child’s progress highlighting areas for improvement and successes.

For current swim class schedules see our most current program guide or contact Michael Murray at 414-967-8194 for more information.

Parent-Tot

Infants-toddlers age 36 months will love getting early exposure to the water from the safety and comfort of a parent’s arms. All infants and toddlers must wear swim diapers and secure plastic pants/suits. No disposable diapers are allowed.

Pre-level Aquatics

Children ages 3-5 participate in this American Red Cross program independently where water safety, mastering new skills and fun are the course objectives for this 30-minute class. Children are grouped according to their individual capabilities with a maximum of 6 students per instructor.

Youth Aquatics

This American Red Cross 6 level program is geared to children ages 6 years and older with a maximum of 8 students per instructor. During this 40-minute class, a balance of skill instruction and fun helps students acquire the skills needed to advance to the next levels at their own pace.

Swim Club

Got a child age 6-17 with a true passion for swimming? The JCC’s  exciting swim club program focuses on helping swimmers master the  primary strokes needed for competitive swimming: butterfly,  backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle as well as proper stretching,  starts, turns and training tactics. With the objective of participation in  competitive swim meets, swim club members must meet the minimum  requirement: swim 25 yards of freestyle and 25 yards of backstroke.
