Follow Team Milwaukee's JCC Maccabi Games Journey

July 24, 2013

By, Coach Aaron Miller, JCC Maccabi Games Milwaukee Delegation Head

On Sunday, July 28, 18 Milwaukee Jewish teens and four coaches will board a plane destined for Austin, Texas.  Why you may ask?  To participate in this year’s JCC Maccabi Games, Sunday, July 28 – Friday, August 2!  Our teen athletes will compete in Girls Basketball (partnering with Team Austin), Boys 16U Soccer (partnering with Team Florida and Atlanta), Boys 14U Soccer (partnering with Team Austin), Girls Volleyball (partnering with Team Detroit), Flag Football, Boys Golf, and we are even sending a Star Reporter (who will be helping with news coverage of the games).

We are very excited to be bringing a full delegation to this year’s games, and we hope that YOU are able to follow us along this journey.  Below are a few ways you can stay connected to our teen athletes while they are in Austin.

Send our athletes a message!

If you wish to send them a message, email me.  I am making a mini “bulletin board” of quotes from our families, friends, and staff that the athletes can carry with them (a little booklet).  Please also “sign it” so we know who it is coming from.  Some great examples are:

“We’re proud of you all!  Stay safe.  Play hard!”  -JCC HRF Staff

“Cheese curds and football, that’s what Wisconsin does!”  -Coach Aaron

“If you lose, you’re out of the family.”  -Coach Aaron’s Dad

Social Media:

Follow us along on our journey by following @JCCMaccabiMKE on Twitter.  If you @reply us, be sure to also include the hashtag #ATXMaccabi & #ATXMaccabiMKE to help us access your post!  We will also have updates on the JCC’s Facebook page, so be sure to check there as well.

Here are a couple more websites from the games that you are all able to check in to.

1. The official site to follow the Games is:  http://www.austinjccmaccabi.org

2. The official social media stream for the Games is http://www.austinjccmaccabi.org/2013stream

Thanks again to everyone who has helped our delegation get this far, and wish us luck!
