The JCC is Gearing Up for Early Dismissal
November 7, 2012
Daylights savings has come and gone and the days are now shorter which means the JCC is gearing up for the Milwaukee Jewish Day School’s (MJDS) early dismissal on Fridays.
Every Friday, starting this Friday, November 16th and running through March 8th, the JCC runs children’s programming from 2:00 – 5:30 pm. JCC member children age 9 and up are welcome to use the JCC, unaccompanied by an adult, every Friday where they can enjoy sports tournaments and GaGa in the Marcus Gym, trivia and puzzle games, movies and cooking projects in the pre-teen lounge, free swim in the pool, café specials, and a quiet study space in the reading room. For non-members we offer a Friday Facilities Pass for children age 9 and up who are attending MJDS. $150, allows non-member students to come to the JCC on Fridays and participate in these fantastic programs.
For families who will be in the building with children age 6 and younger, we offer our Shabbat Drop In. Every Friday at 2:45 pm families are invited to join Rabbi Shari Shamah in the Guten Family Discovery Center for weekly games and activities like challah braiding and Shabbat bingo.
If you are interested in a supervised program for your child on Fridays, we offer the Kids Center After School Program to MJDS students in K4-6th grade at a reduced rate. We also offer a Pre Shabbat Sports Club and theater programs; Glee for 2nd-5th graders and Jr. Glee for K5 & 1st graders.
We hope to see you and your children here on Friday afternoons getting into the Shabbat Spirit. If you have any questions about our Friday afternoon program opportunities, contact Sarah Ruiz at 414-967-8185.
