JCC Rainbow Day Camp
Countdown to Camp!
JCC Summer Day Camp 2015 Information
For many children, summer is their favorite part of year: the weather is warm, no school, and eight weeks of fun at camp—specifically Albert and Ann Deshur JCC Rainbow Day Camp. For the past 19 summers, JCC Rainbow Day Camp has provided children with the best summer camp experience they could imagine. As time has progressed so has Rainbow and summer 2015 will be the best one yet!
Children as young as age 5 can enjoy a terrific summer day camp experience at the JCC’s 115 acre facility in Fredonia, Wisconsin. The fun begins the very first morning when campers arrive at one of 9 convenient bus stop locations. Enthusiastic counselors are waiting to greet each and every child and get them geared up for a full day of new experiences and exciting activities at camp. From swimming, boating and rock climbing to exploring the nature trails, making crafts and playing sports JCC Rainbow Day Camp has everything a child and parent could ask for in a summer day camp experience. A day spent at Rainbow allows children to have a healthy balance of structure activities and free play activities along with plenty of time to meet new friends, try new things, and learn about themselves. A caring, involved and engaged group of staff (all over the age of 18 with previous experience in working with children) provide constant supervision. Legendary camp guru Lenny Kass is at the helm, coordinating all the activities, keeping camp safe, and leading his professional and well trained staff. Lenny is always looking for individuals who want to join the Rainbow Staff team!
As your child grows, so does his or her JCC Rainbow Day Camp experience. In 2nd - 5th grade, campers can select “Chugim” or clubs from a wide range of choices: gymnastics, archery, climbing wall, zip line, ceramics, drumming, dance, computers, basketball and a wide variety of craft projects. With so many different activities at Rainbow, the list of Chugim offered is always changing. A highlight of the JCC Rainbow Day Camp summer is spending an overnight at camp once during each session. Campers get to enjoy camp after the buses leave with fun activities, a delicious hot dog dinner, and singing songs around a camp fire. There’s even an opportunity for Rainbow Campers to take a trip to visit Camp Interlaken JCC for 3 nights, sleep in a cabin and get a true taste of the JCC’s popular overnight Jewish camp.
Got a camper who wants to focus on a particular activity like fishing, skateboarding, Legos, sewing, tennis, musical theater, or movie making? We have a camp for that! Our specialty camp programs allow campers to focus on a particular activity while still enjoying the best parts of Rainbow. Plus, this summer there will be new Specialty Camp programs for 1st graders as well!
Finding it difficult to occupy your middle schooler or teen? Rainbow has a special program for 6th-11th graders that offer a unique camp experience. Our Tsofim and Ozrim programs allow middle schoolers the opportunity to have fun through advanced programming while interacting with younger campers and developing leadership skills. Our middle schoolers spend time apart from the rest of camp and participate in special programming like laser tag, community service, and developing new activities for the younger campers. The Tsofim and Ozrim programs are the right mix of independence and structure and provide your child with a smooth transition from camper to Counselor-In-Training (CIT).
JCC Rainbow Day Camp has everything and anything you can imagine for your child’s camp experience. So please come join our Rainbow Day Camp community—it’s the place to be!
