In early 1943, 21-year-old Sophie Scholl was arrested by the Gestapo for her involvement in the White Rose, a non-violent resistance group that published underground anti-Nazi materials calling for the peaceful overthrow of Hitler. Sophie would ultimately be found guilty of treason and executed shortly after her arrest.

We Will Not Be Silent by David Meyers is a timely and provocative play that tells Sophie’s story and explores the role German citizens played in the rise of Hitler. Directed by Janet Bouman Peterson and featuring Giovanna Greco, Jason Will, and A.J. Magoon, We Will Not Be Silent examines the moral strength and courage that lead a group of students to risk their lives for a righteous & dangerous cause.
