The feet are essential for balance. Poor foot function can impact posture, leading to balance problems and increased fall risk with age. We will explore exercises that can improve foot function, enhance mobility, and delay age-related mobility issues.

Yoga from the Feet Up
Sunday, November 17 • 11:00 – 12:30 PM
Location: Studio B at the JCC
Instructor: Steve White, ERYT-500 yoga teacher and C-IAYT yoga therapist

While the whole body stands, moves, and walks, the feet determine first how and how well we stand and move through space. Often ignored and underutilized in a modern world of fixed containers (shoes) and stable surfaces (nearly everything we walk or stand upon), we explore the necessity and capacity of these amazing instruments that support us.

As we develop individual patterns of posture and movement, the underperformance of our feet can lead to balance challenges, dysfunctional patterns, and increased risk of falling through the aging process.

In this workshop, we’ll develop simple exercises to reinvigorate the functionality of the feet to support our literal journey through life and delay the potential for immobility as we age.

Join Steve White, ERYT-500 yoga teacher and C-IAYT yoga therapist for this session of focused attention on posture and gait from the feet up.
