Kids Center After School Care

Partnering with families to build a safe environment full of values, friendship, and fun.

From the moment the kids arrive, either on the JCC mini-bus or walking with a staff member across the Karl Campus property, they will find they have lots of options. Kids Center kids enjoy scheduled activities rotating between organized gym classes, swimming, art with our art specialist, classroom fun, and exploring their theatrical side.

Program Benefits

Kids Center has designated classrooms for each age group, and in the afternoons, has access to the entire JCC facility. Sports and games are often run outside in the adjacent, fenced courtyard or in our ample gym space.

Kids Center also has access to the JCC Peck Aquatic Center, and parents will be notified in advance if their child’s class is swimming.

Theatrical experiences are available with Pink Umbrella Theater Company, made possible through a generous grant from the Robyn Temkin Theater and School Endowment Fund.

The JCC owns a fleet of branded buses to drive children from school on scheduled service days. Our bus drivers are responsible for following the rules of the road as well as following our JCC transportation operation rules. Drivers go through annual training and are given expectations at the beginning of each school year. The safety of the children in our care is top priority. Students attending schools on the Karl Campus will be walked by Kids Center staff from school on scheduled service days.

Kids Center kids are picked up from their classrooms and walked to their Youth Rec classes and Swim Lessons.

Our Kids Center teachers work every day to create warm, fun, and nurturing environments for our kids. We treat everyone with respect and kindness and encourage children to be their authentic and unique selves. Before the start of a new school year, our teachers undergo three days of training and regularly attend professional development sessions throughout the year.

The JCC is here to support families throughout the year, providing after school care, vacation day coverage, and summer day camps that combine to keep your kids engaged and in good care whenever school is out.

After School Care Monday – Thursday 2:45 – 6:00 PM, Fridays 2:45 – 5:30 PM.

Kids Center provides nutritious, kid-friendly, kosher snacks daily. On Fridays, we end our week together by celebrating Shabbat (the Sabbath) with singing, dancing, blessings, and challah (egg bread).

Homework support is available in the classroom during free play time, upon parent request.
