Growing Partners Needs Your Online Support

April 10, 2014

By Lynn Falender, Development Staff at the JCC

The Growing Partners Project at Rainbow Day Camp has an amazing opportunity to receive one of two $20,000 or one of 15 $10,000 grants.  The grants will be awarded to organizations that help support and develop sustainable, community-based gardening and farming programs that focus on teaching people where their food comes from and the delicious ways it can end up on your plate.

From now through April 21, YOU have the opportunity to vote online once per day for Growing Partners!  Only the top 50 organizations with the most votes will move on to a final judging phase.

VOTING IS EASY!  Visit or and “Like” the page.  To find our application, simply search for “Growing Partners” and vote!  Vote every day and spread the word to everyone you know!

The Growing Partners Project lets campers get their hands dirty and have fun learning in an exciting environment.  Kids learn to cook and eat the healthy foods they grow.  In our hoop house and educational garden, they plant and harvest the crops.  At the wash station, they learn about hygiene, health and the foods they eat.  In the outdoor kitchen they prepare healthy snacks.  Finally, all extra produce from the Growing Partners Project goes to the Jewish Community Pantry, providing fresh produce to those who need it most.

Funding for the Seeds of Change Grant Program comes from the “1% Fund,” the company’s commitment to donate one percent of net sales to support community-based nutrition, gardening and farming programs.
