The click of the tiles mixed with the voices of players calling – 6 bam, 5 crack, flower – fills the air. It must be time for Mah jonng!

Mah Jongg (or Maj, as it is often called) is a fascinating, rummy-like game played with tiles rather than cards.

Online Mah Jongg Tournament November 30-December 7
Cozy up in your home and play with your JCC friends during the cold winter months between Thanksgiving and Hanukkah with our second JCC Virtual Mah Jongg Tournment! Our 10-day tournament will allow you to play 10 games at your own pace on either platform ( or Portion of proceeds will be donated to the JCC Food Pantry.

Online Mah Jonng Classes
Session beginning December 1 – Private class of up to 4 people

Never played? Want to learn? Our experienced instructor will teach you the difference between bams, cracks, and dots, and show you how to make a hand in live, Interactive, online Mah Jongg Beginners classes, now available through the School of American Mah Jongg. Learn the basics and how to play skillfully online in a relaxed, no pressure atmosphere, without having to leave your home. With a maximum of 4 people per class, you will be sure to get plenty of individual attention so you can master the game. Join with a group of four friends or come individually and connect to others. Required: Chrome, Firefox or Safari Browser. A desktop computer, laptop with an external mouse, tablet or iPad and a 2020 Mah Jongg card.
