Join the JCC Triggerfish!
As a member of a transitional swim team, young swimmers are introduced to the value of swimming as a form of exercise, increase their confidence, and make new friends in a supportive team environment.
In the marine world, the triggerfish is known to exhibit a level of intelligence that is unusual among fishes, and has the ability to learn from previous experiences. So, too, do our Triggerfish learn from each new experience in the pool.
Eligibility for swim team:
- Ages 6-14 years old
- Must have passed all requirements of Youth Level 3
Team Practices held Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00-6:00 PM
Each child has their own swim lane. All swimmers will review the basic components of competitive swimming strokes, starts, turns and training tactics through drills while learning how to conduct a proper warm-up and a balanced workout.
Swim Skills Clinic
Twice a year the swim team opens its doors to new swimmers with a swim skills clinic. This acts as a jumpstart for kids interested in the team and focuses on the four competitive strokes over the course of three days introducing them to the world of competitive swimming in a welcoming and inclusive way.
