The Rose of Treason: Matinee + Discussion Sunday, November 9 • 1:00-3:00 PM at First Stage, 325 W Walnut St for children and adults ages 12+
Join us for a powerful performance of The Rose of Treason, presented in remembrance of Kristallnacht. Set in 1943 Germany, the play tells the story of Hans and Sophie Scholl, university students and members of the resistance who stood up against the Nazi regime. Their courage to speak out in the face of overwhelming fear – and their ultimate sacrifice – reminds us of the extraordinary that ordinary people can find when guided by conscience and conviction.
Following the performance, join the director and the JCC’s very own Arts & Culture Director, Reva Fox, and leaders from the Holocaust Education Resource Center (HERC) for a conversation exploring the history and impact of Kristallnacht, and how the Scholls’ legacy continues to inspire resistance against hatred and injustice today.
