Adaptive Aquatics
Ages 4-18 JCC North Entrance, Whitefish Bay
As a destination for community, our goal is to Include everyone.
We are thrilled to offer swim lessons for individuals of all abilities, ensuring everyone in our community has access to learning about water safety and developing swim skills that last a lifetime.
Program Benefits
Adaptive lessons are designed for individuals ages 4–18 who identify as having a disability. Lessons are taught one-on-one with an instructor and focus on building comfort, confidence, and proficiency in the water. Co-adaptive lessons (two swimmers, siblings only) are also available.
Our Adaptive Instructors are experienced in assisting participants with a wide range of needs ranging from behavioral support, communication adaptations, and swim stroke modification to fit the abilities of all swimmers.
Our instructors are taught how to assess and identify roadblocks and how to implement strategies to overcome them.
Adaptive Aquatics provides a welcoming, inclusive environment with flexible scheduling to meet each participant’s needs. With a mixture of personalized instruction and intentional, supportive sensory experiences, we build confidence, comfort in the water, and essential water safety skills.
