Welcoming Hannah’s Kitchen at CAFĀ B DATA

Even with exceptional fitness, recreational, education, and social programs – sometimes the most meaningful thing the JCC does in serving its mission is simply offering a place for the community to gather. For many years, CAFĀ B DATA was that place. A warm and welcoming space for catching up with friends, feeding your family after pick-up from our education programs, or having a snack while the kids played in the Guten Family Discovery Center.
Since its closure during the height of COVID-19, and our previous partner’s decision to exit the kosher food market, JCC leadership has been working to discover a new path forward that best serves our members and our entire community.
We are pleased to announce that Hannah’s Kitchen at CAFĀ B DATA is scheduled to open in late January 2023, under the supervision of Kosher Supervisors of Wisconsin. Owned and operated by Hannah Sattler, a lifelong member of our community, Hannah’s Kitchen has been providing catering services, curbside meal delivery, and holiday food offerings out of the kosher kitchen on the Karl Campus for the past 15 months. This newly expanded partnership will allow our members and the community at large to return to the heart of the JCC’s Main Street and catch up over a warm meal, enjoy a snack, or pick up food for Shabbat.
“More than just a restaurant, CAFĀ B DATA has always been a demonstration of the JCC’s commitment to meeting the needs of a diverse community in an inclusive setting,” explained Mark Shapiro, President and Chief Executive Officer. “This partnership with Hannah’s Kitchen allows us to continue to ensure that the times that we gather over food are inclusive for our entire community.”
The reopening of CAFĀ B DATA is made possible through the generous support and partnership of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, which is committed to the accessibility of kosher food.

Hannah’s Kitchen will also be providing food at the community-wide Hanukkah Around the World celebration at the JCC this Monday, December 19, 4:30-6:00 PM, so be sure to stop by CAFĀ B DATA during the event to congratulate Hannah and her team on this new and exciting venture.
