Chaverim

Adults 18+ Events throughout the community
Chaverim is an adult social group for individuals of differing abilities to enjoy social, recreational, and educational programs.

make new friends

Chaverim is the Hebrew word for friends. Adult friendships are important for individuals of all abilities, and at the JCC, we make friendship a priority by working with our Chaverim participants to develop social skills, build peer relationships, and try new things in a safe and inclusive environment.

Program Benefits

Chaverim participants look forward to seeing their friends within the group and also engage fully with the community at-large by attending a wide variety of arts, social, and holiday events planned by the JCC throughout the year.

Chaverim meets Tuesdays & Thursdays throughout the month to participate in dinners, cultural events, arts & crafts, movie & dance nights, social & educational opportunities, and wellness events.

A unique component of Chaverim outreach is our ability to provide door-to-door bus transportation to participants within a pre-determined radius of the JCC.

To make programs accessible to individuals regardless of living situation and income, we provide transportation to each event whether it is at our Jewish Community Center or out in the city of Milwaukee.
