Gesher Adult Day Program

Adults 18+ JCC West Entrance, Whitefish Bay
Offering adults with disabilities a wide range of social, educational, recreational, and volunteer opportunities.

Build independence

The JCC’s state-licensed Gesher program is a group wellness program for adults with disabilities, focused on building independence. Participants develop wellness skills—like mindful exercise and personal hygiene—as well as practical life skills, including money management, bill paying, and more.

Program Benefits

Gesher means “bridge” in Hebrew. This new program serves as a next step after high school transition programs and serves as a bridge to opportunities, friendships, and greater community involvement.

Gesher participants work as a group and independently to learn and refine skills that lead to a healthy, independent lifestyle. Common skills include hygiene, establishing a fitness routine, goal setting, centering the mind, and how to navigate complex emotions.

Gesher participants have access to the Habush Family Fitness Floor and other JCC exercise spaces throughout the week. They can choose from a variety of exercises, ranging from cardio to weightlifting, and also participate in regular yoga classes.
